Not one of my favorites。 Seemed like a lot of detailed descriptions of buildings。

I enjoyed reading this book。 It had a good story to it。 I liked the variety of characters in it。 It was a well written book。

2。5 starsAfter reading Reacher overcome all odds in defeating his foes in 25 prior episodes, one becomes accustomed to his prodigious fighting skills。 But in this 26th adventure, this has sadly become so exaggeratedly overdone that it has reached comic book levels。 The story is interesting, the characters offbeat (although mainly two-dimensional), and still has thrills (if you're silly enough to actually worry about Reacher's survival), but one can only suspend so much reality before it becomes 2。5 starsAfter reading Reacher overcome all odds in defeating his foes in 25 prior episodes, one becomes accustomed to his prodigious fighting skills。 But in this 26th adventure, this has sadly become so exaggeratedly overdone that it has reached comic book levels。 The story is interesting, the characters offbeat (although mainly two-dimensional), and still has thrills (if you're silly enough to actually worry about Reacher's survival), but one can only suspend so much reality before it becomes tiresome。 。。。more

Great book! Another great Jack Reacher adventure! This is a favorite series of mine and as always did not disappoint。 Definitely recommend!

Absolute ride beginning to end。 Lots of action and mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat as always。 this is the first book that has felt like the real Reacher to me in a few years personally。

I feel like Jack’s story has been rung dry of neat surprises in his personality and how the surrounding characters react to who he is。 Still entertaining, but my lack of enthusiasm means it’s either Jack or me that growing old。

Reacher’s WorstNot a good debut for Andrew Child。 Dull story, pages and pages describing irrelevant details, little, predictable and repetitive action moments。Hope this is not the beginning of the end for this character。 But, just in case, I won’t buy the next one until it has plenty of reviews。

I didn't like this book quite as much as a normal Reacher book。 To be honest, it's possible if I just read this book randomly about some other character I'd give it a 4。 I think I just have higher standards for this series。 So to end, it wasn't bad, but I like most Reacher books more。(view spoiler)[Also, what the heck! There were at least a couple women in this book that Reacher could have had sex with, and he didn't score once!? That's almost like Bond not getting the girl in his movies。 It jus I didn't like this book quite as much as a normal Reacher book。 To be honest, it's possible if I just read this book randomly about some other character I'd give it a 4。 I think I just have higher standards for this series。 So to end, it wasn't bad, but I like most Reacher books more。(view spoiler)[Also, what the heck! Great read。 It really flowed and I had a hard time putting it down and going to bed。 I was very tired at work the next day。 LOL

Tired and oldI have been a fan of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, have read every book more than once。 I have found the last couple of books very tired and old。。 the onset of technology and the 2020’s has left JR behind, the books span over 20 years and jack hasnt aged… perhaps new books could be set in his army days or imply he has only recently left the army…just an idea from a fan

I waited and was not disappointed。Reacher is Reacher! I am only sorry that I finished it so quickly。 The story was in character with the others, but new at the same time。 I'm already looking forward to the next story。 Keep them coming。 I waited and was not disappointed。Reacher is Reacher! Normally, Lee Child writes a novel with a strong plot and character development。 However, “Better off Dead” was very disappointing in that there was no character development and the plot was thin and underdeveloped。 I look forward to reading the next Jack Reacher novel and hope that Lee Child has Jack Reacher in a challenging storyline with real fully developed “bad guys”。 Until then, I highly recommend that the Jack Reacher fans read mark Dawson’s “John Milton” series where I have found the sto Normally, Lee Child writes a novel with a strong plot and character development。 However, “Better off Dead” was very disappointing in that there was no character development and the plot was thin and underdeveloped。 I look forward to reading the next Jack Reacher novel and hope that Lee Child has Jack Reacher in a challenging storyline with real fully developed “bad guys”。 Until then, I highly recommend that the Jack Reacher fans read mark Dawson’s “John Milton” series where I have found the storylines, plots and characters full of life and involving current issues。 Plenty of action, yet more than just chases, fights, and rehashed lines about his past life。 。。。more

It’s a good read if you get it for free Not the same Jack reacher he’s too politically correcthe would’ve had let’s say involve with that woman he was helping with that’s not politically correct now way too much information on buildings and processes very boring if you skip 25% of the pages the books readable

The problem with a New Jack Reacher book is that I buy them and consume them rapidly, they keep my interest from beginning to end。 So now as with the last one I have a long wait until another one comes out。 That is the real problem that there is not a new one every week or so!

Very poorly written effort which is written in the language style of an eight year old who has not yet learned to write sentences that have more than four or five words。 The plot is meandering, the characters unformed, and the Reacher character bears only a vague resemblance to the far better written earlier books。The book cost me $15。99 and I feel totally ripped off and cheated as I barely got $0。99c of value。Given this rubbish as an indicator of things to come in the Reacher series I will cert Very poorly written effort which is written in the language style of an eight year old who has not yet learned to write sentences that have more than four or five words。 The plot is meandering, the characters unformed, and the Reacher character bears only a vague resemblance to the far better written earlier books。The book cost me $15。99 and I feel totally ripped off and cheated as I barely got $0。99c of value。Given this rubbish as an indicator of things to come in the Reacher series I will certainly not be buying any more them。 andI am astonished that Lee Child would let this sub-standard trash appear on the market to damage his reputation, not to mention that the publishers should also be ashamed of themselves for not consigning this junk to the pulping machine。 。。。more

Book #26 in the Jack Reacher series。 There are two kinds of people in the world, those that love Jack Reacher and those who have never read a Jack Reacher book。 To read them is to love him。 Every reader has their favorite or two and every reader will argue with you over why their favorite should be yours too。 Each book can be read as a stand alone, but once you join this fan club, you'll want to read the others too。 I've read them all。Better Off Dead finds Jack in Arizona, not far from the borde Book #26 in the Jack Reacher series。 There are two kinds of people in the world, those that love Jack Reacher and those who have never read a Jack Reacher book。 To read them is to love him。 Every reader has their favorite or two and every reader will argue with you over why their favorite should be yours too。 Each book can be read as a stand alone, but once you join this fan club, you'll want to read the others too。 I've read them all。Better Off Dead finds Jack in Arizona, not far from the border with Mexico。 Jack has standards and expects everyone to follow the basic rules of law。 He's often disappointed and often dispenses his form of justice, with or without the help of the local law enforcement agencies。 This story follows those guidelines and provided this reader with another excellent trip on the road with Jack Reacher。 。。。more

Excellent as usual。You can always count on Lee Child's Reacher books to have plot twists that hold your attention to the very end。 Excellent as usual。You can always count on Lee Child's Reacher books to have plot twists that hold your attention to the very end。 。。。more

Very “Clinical”, Impassionate and approach。。 just a huge lot if very detailed hand fights (really gives you a headache to visualize) … I am not sure I really understood the whole plot in one go but don’t think will rad it again either。

This is classic Reacher。He arrives in town, gets drawn into a mystery, solves it and then leaves。It starts with a bang with a classic Reacher punch up and then it just doesn’t stop until he leaves town。I liked the call backs to the earlier books and it even gives more information for something that has only ever been hinted at。No spoilers from me。Classic Reacher give it a go you won’t be disappointed。

I really don’t know if Jack is starting to be another James Bond, but the last two books just hasn’t been my cup of tea。 It long and for the most part not really exciting。 I will definitely wait for #27 to pick up the book

Aimee

Won’t ever be my favorite and someone needs to hand each of them a thesaurus。 The word “ubiquitous” appears more than it probably should。 Mostly because it’s like someone was slinging out the fancy high dollar words for no real effect。 Once would be enough。

Bruce L

Pure ReacherPlenty of action, and bodies pile up amid more than enough plot twists to keep the pages turning。 Keep them coming。

Barb K

Another winner from Lee ChilOnly complaint is the book is too short, and took too little time too read。 This seem s too happen a lot with kindle books。

Another Page TurnerrJust like all the Reacher books, I read it from start to finish without pause。 The mystery, the suspense, the fights, are all there。 Hate it that I have to wait so long for the next one。
